Tracks
Another weekly post: at this point we're trying to build the 'toy version' of the prototype, the version that doesn't really have anything other than the core mechanics. While the programmers are programming that, we artists are making basic tracks to try out. Trying to come up with as many level elements as possible, and see what works, what doesn't, what's hard, what's easy, etc. That way, when it comes time, we can enumerate, categorize, and split the various elements up such that the harder elements show up only in the later levels, and we can establish some sense of continuity between levels via the mechanics. Also, I think I came up with a motto: "Spin to win."
