So momentum did not get picked to be one of the final 3 games. Oh well. That's fine, honestly. It means that it will revert back to the original idea of just being a personal thing, only now I get to use all the feedback and input from the class.

Now I'm on the Ninja Royale team. It kind of surprised me, as it was the most... nebulous idea out of all of them. I'm still not 100% sure what the game is. But I'm designing levels anyway. I started designing a level, riffing on the whole dojo themed level idea they had already. I've 'completed' the research portion of the design, collecting all the reference material I could possibly find. I think I'm on good footing to move on except I can't until we really nail down not only the core concept, but the metrics as well. things like exactly how tall is a player? How high is a single jump? A double jump? How fast can we move? How far can we jump? Things like that in very concrete numbers, because those numbers really have to be embedded in the foundation of a level. A level can't even make it past loose blueprints without knowing those things. So with that in mind, I'm going to be designing a level to test things and develop assets with to use in the final game.
